My son at 16 years old made a similar phone call to me after he was forced by Family Court to stay with his father. I can barely listen to this brave child’s voice as she is crying because it reminds me of this chaotic time. (Thank you dear courageous young girl for recording this video!)

Years later his sister told me my son had a grand mal seizure in his father’s presence due to the abuse. The system would have put me in jail if I went to rescue him.

Today, my son is afraid to speak to me as a result of the abuse he and his sister endure. He is not allowed to see me or he will lose the roof over his head which in itself is abuse. He watched this scenario play out with his sister, so he is terrified.

My adult daughter is finally with me after surviving horrible circumstances. She is on multiple prescriptions from her doctor. However, she is strong, resilient and progressing beautifully. I am so very proud of her!
